Statewide numbers are stable overall, but St Cloud is seeing an increase in medical errors.
Preventable errors at St. Cloud Hospital increased last year, reversing a three-year decline, according to an annual report today from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH).
The total of number of events at the CentraCare Health System facility rose from nine to 11. None of those resulted in death; three resulted in a “serious disability,” the report shows. .
The state-mandated report tracks 28 types of serious events, such as wrong-site surgeries, severe bedsores, falls or serious medication errors, “which should rarely or never happen.” St Cloud Times.
