Minneapolis ponders Greenway street conversion (no cars allowed)

The North Minneapolis Greenway would run 30 blocks north-south.

Gear Junkies:

Imagine if your city street was stripped of its pavement and turned into a bike/pedestrian-friendly “greenway.” Trees, grass, and paths replace pavement and cars whizzing by.

That scenario is being considered in Minneapolis, where the city is working to develop plans to convert a low-traffic street in north Minneapolis to a no-cars-allowed “linear park.”

New bike trail construction underway in Glendalough State Park

When complete, the trail will consist of an eight-mile loop within the park and a three-mile connection spur to the city of Battle Lake. The trail will pass through woods and prairie and offer views of Annie Battle and Molly Stark lakes, via Alexandria Echo Press.
