States today declare if they will set up a health care marketplace to help people and small businesses get private insurance. Minnesota’s ahead of  many states; lawmakers expect to act early next year, via Associated Press.

Conservative group vies for Minnesota voters

“An independent conservative group announced Monday it will drop another half-million on ad time in Minnesota, a state considered safe for President Barack Obama.

“American Future Fund said it will expand its $500,000 ad buy from last week for a 30-second spot, spending an additional $483,000 to run the commercial statewide on broadcast and cable through October 10,” reports CNN.

A portion of Karlstad, Minn. was evacuated as wildfire closed in on the small northwestern town near the Canadian border. KTRF reports on at least one individual being turned away after trying to return to their home.
