NHL says its canceling games through Nov. 1

“With owners and players still far apart on negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement, the NHL on Friday canceled all regular-season games through Nov. 1. The cancellations mean three weeks of lost pay for players, or about 11.5% of their 2012-13 salary. The total of canceled games equals 135,” reports USA Today.
