Lonnie Dupre’s January solo summit of Denali’s Mount McKinley has been thwarted twice before. Food shortages and fatigue are major challenges when you are dealing with winter in Denali.

On his second day of climbing as Dupre nears 7,800 feet in elevation, his team released this video of Dupre at the start of his journey. He’s hoping his 34 days of provisions and his four months of strenuous training leading up to this trek will lead him to success.
