Suspect released in Cold Spring officer shooting case

“Hours before Tom Decker’s family and community gathered at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, Minn., for the slain police officer’s visitation, the man arrested on suspicion of killing him walked out of jail,” via Pioneer Press.

“Stearns County Attorney Janelle Kendall says there’s not enough evidence to charge Ryan Larson, 34, with the murder of police officer Tom Decker,” via MPR News.

“I know my sister is very worried that he is out there right now,” Decker’s former sister-in-law Roxie Knowles told WCCO. “She is worried for her kids’ safety because, if it is someone who had something against Tom Decker himself, who is to say he is not going to go after family members?”

News Cut: “In the aftermath of the killing of a popular police officer, it’s only human nature to want someone to pay, and pay quickly. Sometimes, real life doesn’t work that way and there are good reasons it doesn’t.”
