Keith Ellison twice called his Republican opponent Chris Fields a “scumbag” in an extremely contentious, personal and at times uncivil debate Thursday morning that at one point led to radio station KFAI-FM cutting away to radio silence until tempers had cooled,” reports Patch.

“Fields launched into accusations about Ellison’s child support payments.

‘You are a low-life scumbag,’ Ellison responded repeatedly. ‘You are a gutter dweller.’ reports Capitol View.
