The Facts: The Minnesota DFL has focused much of its money on efforts to elect Democrats to the Legislature, and Tim Faust, who is running against Republican Ben Wiener in House District 11B north of the Twin Cities is among those candidates.

The Message: This mailer focuses on Medicare, and argues that Wiener, like other Republican candidates, will oppose it as well. But PoliGraph found this claim false in part because the state Legislature has no control over Medicare. It’s a federal program, not a state program.
