Ex-soldier from St. Cloud charged in militia case

“A man with St. Cloud ties is among four former Army soldiers who along with and a civilian have been indicted for crimes linked to an anti-government militia in Georgia. Christopher Jenderseck, 26, was charged Tuesday with two counts of evidence tampering and three counts of illegal gang activity.” St. Cloud Times

Jenderseck was allegedly part of the militia group FEAR, or Forever Enduring Always Ready. Jenderseck’s arrest in North Dakota comes after other alleged FEAR members discussed plans to overthrow the government and assassinate President Obama.

“A U.S. Army soldier’s revelation that his group, FEAR, planned terrorist attacks at home, including trying to assassinate the president, underscores the growing threat of domestic extremism—and vindicates a 2009 DHS report warning of right-wing radicals recruiting military-service people,” reports the Daily Beast.
